Dr. Balang is a certified Pediatrician committed to providing a pediatric medical home for patients from birth to the age of 18.
Dr. Balang offers newborn services, routine child visits, sick visits, hospital-based care, and chronic care management. She also administers vaccinations, developmental screenings, behavioural health assessments, and conducts allergy testing. Dr. Balang offers a care package where she partners directly with families to build preventive care measures for their children. These appointments are built to ensure all questions and concerns can be addressed to successfully create an individualised care design that suits the needs of each patient and family. Under this care package, in addition to providing care coordination with allied healthcare providers, visits for acute illnesses can also be accommodated on the same day of booking.
Dr. Diana, OceanMed’s Medical Director, graduated from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and trained in OBGYN in major teaching hospitals across the Netherlands. She was made consultant and was appointed clinic lead of the Gynecology Department and Maternity Ward, and then Medical Director. Between 2015 and 2018 Diana worked in the UK where she dedicated her time to updating and developing clinical guidelines and setting up the EPAU (Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit) clinic. She continued her work in Abu Dhabi over the past year developing guidelines, initiating risk-management strategies, and performing her clinical duties.
Some of Diana’s core competencies include hysteroscopy management of lesions and endometrial lining, hormonal disturbances and menstrual irregularities, colposcopy, infertility and recurring miscarriages, high-risk pregnancies, female genital prolapse, and vaginal and caesarean delivery.
Dr. Stone, OceanMed’s Director of Urogynecology, holds a Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG).
He is from Detroit, Michigan where he began his career, and has been practicing in the Cayman Islands since 2015. He is well known and respected within the Cayman community, serving many women throughout their pregnancy and with various woman’s health issues.
He specializes in minimally invasive surgery and advanced laparoscopy, treating women with abnormal uterine bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, vaginal prolapse, and infertility, just to name a few.
Dr. Laura Hole is an OB/GYN Consultant with more than 10 years of experience working in this specialty. Dr. Laura began her Obstetrics & Gynaecology training at the King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth, Western Australia before moving back to United Kingdom where she has subsequently worked at several hospitals in the south of England, including three cancer centers.
Dr. Hole also spent about 9 months in total in Tanzania working on service improvement projects such as teaching at the local hospital the technique of low transverse suprapubic incision for Caesarean section and helping to reduce maternal mortality at the local hospital. She believes in a multidisciplinary approach, working closely with nurses, radiologists, pathologists, and oncologists to provide the best possible care for her patients.
Geraldine is originally from the Philippines and completed her Pre-Nursing Degree at Saint Luis University in Baguio City in 1987 before graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1990. Geraldine worked in the Philippines for a number of years before relocating to the Cayman Islands in 2001. Geraldine has spent many years working with CTMH Doctor’s Hospital. She enjoys gardening even though she doesn’t have a green thumb, but that doesn’t keep her from trying!
Hendrika is a farm girl from Antigonish, in Nova Scotia, Canada. She studied Nursing at St. Francis Xavier University from where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2009. Hendrika has spent the last 10 years working in Eastern Canada and the Canadian Arctic before deciding to relocate to the Cayman Islands for a change of weather! Hendrika loves to spend time her Pit Bull/Boxer Jax, her family and friends and enjoys staying active outdoors and in the gym.
Kristina is originally from Toronto, Canada and went to the University of Western Ontario where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2016. For the past few years Kristina worked at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto on the Oncology and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. In 2020, Kristina and her husband decided they wanted a change and relocated to the beautiful Cayman Islands with their two cats. In her spare time Kristina loves to travel, spend time outdoors and hang out with friends and family.
Margaret is originally from Windsor, Ontario.? She graduated from Fanshawe College in 2004 with a diploma in Medical Radiation Technology and worked at Essex X-Ray before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2006. For 12 years Margaret worked at CTMH Doctors Hospital doing X-Ray, CAT scans and Mammograms. In her spare time Margaret enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Alana originally hails from Calgary in Canada. She graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT)’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography course in 2009. Alana has worked in both hospital and clinic settings and her background has included high-risk obstetrical and pediatric ultrasound.? Alana moved to Cayman in 2019 from Canada Diagnostic Clinic in Calgary. Outside of work Alana enjoys photography, yoga and long walks on Seven Mile Beach.
Andrea was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from the Marion County School of Radiologic Technology in Ocala, Florida in 2004 before completing her certification in Sonography at SantaFe College in Gainesville, Florida in 2005. Andrea is a registered Sonographer as well as an X-ray technologist. She is registered in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular and Adult Echocardiography. Andrea loves to learn and is passionate about sharing her knowledge with her peers. Prior to relocating to the Cayman Islands, Andrea worked as a Sonography Instructor in Tampa, Florida.
A strong believer in the power of positive thinking and living in the moment, Andrea enjoys reading, yoga and spending time in nature.
Elyse completed her undergraduate degrees in health sciences and pre-medicine with an honors thesis in pre-term labor research from Bishop’s University in Quebec, Canada. After graduation, she began a Master of Public Health from Western University in Ontario, Canada. Through her Master’s, she worked on various women’s health initiatives and had the opportunity to live in Rwanda to work on developing and implementing health education programs for local nurses and clinics. Elyse then moved to Toronto to work in healthcare communications, focusing on various disease and treatment areas including infertility, induction of labor, and post-partum hemorrhage.
Elyse serves as a liaison between patients, physicians, laboratories, hospital admissions, and overseas referrals to facilitate patient care. Elyse’s goal is to ensure the women in our community receive the highest quality of care and support throughout their journey.
Elyse loves to travel and enjoys yoga and scuba diving in her spare time.
Sarah trained and worked in London, UK as a Clinical Vascular Scientist in both the NHS and private hospital settings. She moved to Cayman in 2002 and has worked in a number of local healthcare facilities providing specialist diagnostic imaging services. Sarah transitioned into health administration as a patient care coordinator and continued in that role when she joined OceanMed in 2020. Sarah brings her experience of a variety of healthcare and educational settings, working with patients and clinic staff, and managing clinical and administrative teams, to the position of Practice Manager for OceanMed. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys writing screenplays, triathlons, and being with her family.
Jordana studied health sciences at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama and spent her summers back home interning at HSA. She started her career in healthcare at Health City Cayman Islands (HCCI) as a nursing assistant and later on, a patient care coordinator. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, trying new restaurants and spending time with family and friends.
Yanet was born in Cuba and grew up in the beautiful Cayman Islands where she began to develop her professional career in customer service. Yanet worked in medical administration for three years before joining the OceanMed family. She is friendly and always with a bubbly personality. During her free time, Yanet enjoys spending time with family and friends, DIY projects and event photography.
Kimberly is an experienced Medical Administrative Assistant. She has 15 years of customer service excellence in both Medical, Retail Banking and Finance offices here in the Cayman Islands. Kimberly is driven by client satisfaction and takes pride in providing the best Customer Service possible. With her passion for serving others, Kimberly is pursing further education in health care. During her free time, she enjoys baking and spending family time at the beach.
