How It Works

Important Difference between Shop America and Air Freight Services.

Shop America is tailored to accommodate small and/or consolidated shipments. Shipping small packages
via Shop America will offer better shipping fees as compared to minimum charges if the same package
were shipped via general air freight services.

Plus, it is more than just shipping….

Consolidation- Holds your shipments when they arrive at various times and ships them all at once. This allows savings on overall service fees, government duties and taxes.

Repacking- Ever shopped for an item that actually weighs a pound but your chargeable weight was 10 pounds because of its dimension (size). No worries, our automatic repacking service will repack your boxes to reduce its dimension (size). This service will be performed once we are able to reduce your chargeable weight by at least 5lbs. Please see repacking guidelines.
Personal Shopping- If you don’t have the time, if, your international credit card can’t be used to make your purchases, or if you need some guidance to help you through the process, our personal shopping service will be there to assist you.

Shipping fees are determined by the actual weight or dimensional weight of your cargo; whichever is the greater amount will be your chargeable weight.

Planning to place Personal Shopper orders?

Orders are placed up to 72 hours after you have delivered all the necessary information and funds to the NCI Customer Service Representative. Plan ahead in order to catch all the sales available!

Make sure items are worth purchasing & shipping internationally.

You will find many online sales that are extremely tempting, but remember, you are shipping them
internationally.

Choose wisely and ship smartly.
Why?
  • Some items are low in cost, light in weight but are bulky in size. In a case like this, the dimensional weight will be more than the actual weight and shipping fees may be higher than what you would want to pay for these low cost items.
  • However, should you decide to purchase these items, we recommend that you consolidate them to add value to your shipment and make your international shipping charges justifiable.

Examples of these items are: Toys, Small Appliances, Comforter Sets, Piñatas etc.

Consolidation & Repacking Your Cargo (some conditions apply)
  • We always recommend that you consolidate several pieces arriving at different times. This will allow you to benefit from consolidated weight and possibly a lesser per pound rate charge.
  • Consolidation can also lower the number of single pieces you receive in one shipment and this will also lower your government package tax and warehouse fee charges.
  • A consolidation request MUST be communicated with the NCI Customer Service Representative as we will not automatically consolidate your shipments for you.
  • Communicate your intent to consolidate as soon as you place your orders. Delaying this may result in us not being able to fulfill your request.
  • The tracking numbers associated with each shipment to be consolidated must be sent as soon as you receive them from the supplier; this is how we will keep track of each piece in the consolidation.
  • Automatic repacking of any single piece of cargo will be done as long as we are able to save you at least 5 lbs in shipping weight.
Transit Time to Grand Cayman
  • Air Freight- within 2 to 3 days after arrival in Miami.
Shop and Ship in Time and Avoid All Delays and Disappointments
  • Remember to choose the appropriate shipping method from the supplier that best suits the time frame in which you would like to receive your shipment in Cayman. Bear in mind the additional days that will be added for transit timeto Cayman based on your shipping method from Miami to Grand Cayman.
  • To avoid unnecessary delays, ensure that orders are addressed properly and shippedto the correct address. If we need to transfer your cargo, additional charges will apply.
  • It is important that you use the NCI # assigned to the account when shipping via Shop America and Ocean Freight. Failure to do this may cause your shipment to be unidentifiable and will cause delays in the arrival of your shipment in Grand Cayman.
Invoices from Suppliers

It is important to forward all invoices immediately after you have placed orders. Invoices are needed to process your shipment as they arrive at the Cayman Islands Customs Department. Failure to do this may cause delay in handing over the shipment to you.

  • If you do not create an account with the seller for you to go back and print invoices, PLEASE print the confirmation page with the details of the order when you complete the transaction.
  • The C.I. Customs Department will only accept the Original Invoice. Please note: You can be prosecuted if false documents are provided
