The professionalism of Health Care Pharmacist goes beyond preparing prescriptions. We are experienced health consultants and will be happy to offer:

• Blood glucose testing – We offer a simple finger prick test that will let you know if your blood glucose level is too high, advice is also on hand to keep it low or to reduce it.
• We offer free blood pressure checks and lifestyle advice about how you can stay healthy.
• In - store health screenings. These screenings can help you better understand your health status and guide you toward steps with which you can improve your well-being.
• Because we care, your pharmacist may follow up with a telephone call to ensure continued, proper and above all safe use of your medication.
• Provide counseling with written information to explain the optimal use of your medication, plus additional storage and administration instructions.
• Save you money on quality; provide generic drugs which often save you up to 60% compared to brand names.
• Confirm your information and medical history, including any possible allergies.
• Check to make sure that your prescription is both accurate and complete and that your medication, its dose, quantity, and directions are right for you.
• Check for any potential problems with your prescription, such as: Interactions with other medications, Allergies and contraindications to the medication prescribed, Duplication of therapy and if needed, work with your doctor to resolve any of the above.
• Provide information on your medical condition to help you better manage your therapy. Provide computerized records of purchases for insurance purposes

We also offer the following services:

• Blood Glucose Meter and Supply Services: Health Care Pharmacy offers free training, education and consultation.
• Treatment for Minor Illnesses. When there is work to be done at the office or at home, the last thing you want is a bad cold, sore throat or headache dragging you down. Our trained pharmacists can advise you on the proper use of both prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
• Online Refills - Customers are able to request refills online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The pharmacy will process the refill request immediately during normal business hours. If a request is made during non-working hours, the pharmacy will process the request first thing in the morning of the next business day.
• Transfer prescriptions - Customers can transfer prescriptions to Health Care Pharmacy using our online application. The pharmacy will process the transfer request within 24 hours. Bring in your old medication bottle and we will be happy to transfer a prescription.
• Refill Reminder Service - Upon a patient's request, you can add yourself to the refill request list. Every time a prescription is due for a refill, the pharmacist or technician will call the customer to get authorization before filling a medication.
• Refill Request Authorization - If a prescription cannot be refilled, Health Care Pharmacy will contact your physician to request a new prescription. Most doctors’ offices request two to three business days for all requests. However, if a patient is out of medication, it is at the pharmacist's discretion to "loan out" enough medication until his or her doctor approves another refill.
• Prior Authorization Requests - Your health plan may require you to obtain prior authorization before it chooses to pay for a particular medication. If that is the case, we will contact the insurance company and coordinate with the doctor's office to expedite the prescription.
• Medication Therapy Management (MTM) - Medication therapy management is a partnership between Health Care Pharmacy pharmacists, the patient (or caregiver), and other health professionals to promote the safe and effective use of medications.
