Dr. Ebanks leads the pack on Grand Cayman with cutting-edge procedures that effectively treat all types of varicose veins. She is the first and only person performing modern techniques like EVLT and VeinGogh. These new technologies are coming to the forefront of vein treatments because they are much quicker, less painful, and require little or no recovery time afterward.
Endovenous Laser Treatment, better known as EVLT is a less invasive treatment than vein stripping. EVLT uses ultrasound to pinpoint the location of problematic veins and then applies laser light to the vein to collapse it, causing it to eventually disappear. Patients are given a local anesthetic and Dr. Ebanks then administers laser energy directly to the vein. The procedure may take anywhere from 45-90 minutes to perform on an outpatient basis and some patients are able to return to work the same day as the procedure. Dr. Ebanks has been successfully using ELVT to help patients get rid of unwanted varicose veins since 2007.
The VeinGogh Ohmic Thermolysis System uses Microburst Technology, a unique electrical output that directs heat to the treated vein without damaging surrounding tissue. The treatment can be used on spider veins and telangiectasias safely and effectively. The procedure involves little discomfort and many patients are back to normal activities right after treatment. Most VeinGogh sessions take less than 30 minutes to complete and only one session is typically needed to achieve desired results. In some cases, Dr. Ebanks combines VeinGogh treatments with sclerotherapy for the best possible outcome. In addition to treating varicose and spider veins, the VeinGogh procedure has also been shown to be effective on skin discolorations like cherry angionas, skin tags, and rosacea in some cases.
