The Harquail Theatre is Cayman’s National Theatre; as such it is the best theatre in the country and well suited for community and professional productions. Companies have also used the theatre for corporate functions.
The Harquail Theatre seats 300 and is equipped with a computerized light board, a 32 track sound board, an array of lighting instruments and microphones, projectors and an intercom system. The stage is 31 x 29 feet with adequate wings and a fly system. A loading dock facilitates bringing in large sets and a small workshop is located in the adjacent building.
Adjacent to the Harquail Theatre is the Harquail Studio, which was actually the first theatre at the F.J. Harquail Cultural Centre. The Harquail Studio is a small theatre with a basic performing area.
The Studio seats 52 in a semi-round stadium seating arrangement. Lighting and sound are basic. A dress room is available. It is well suited for small productions of plays, recitals, cabarets, and poetry readings, a rehearsal space, lectures and meetings or art and craft exhibitions.

For more than 25 years the Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) has carried out its mission of stimulating, facilitating and preserving Caymanian cultural and artistic expression. The CNCF has achieved this through the extensive development of wide-ranging programmes. These programmes include, stage productions, creative education for young people, free workshops, financial support for artists as well as cultural projects including, festivals, publications, national recognition of artistic and cultural achievement, the preservation of Caymanian heritage and arts and culture for future generations.
